  1. I like the look of the water beyond the marsh grasses in the foreground. Looking hopeful for springtime.

    1. I do like our local ponds. It is amazing how quickly the ice melted once the snow cover disappeared. Hope all is well Anneli. Allan

In Italy we say “pronti, partenza, via!” (Ready, set, go)

    1. Thanks Dear Luisa. I like the saying Ready Set Go, but it sounds much better in Italian. Have a Happy Sunday. Allan

  4. Love the waterfowl pictures. I’m impressed with the length of your ride. Looks like Spring has almost got a toe hold in your part of Canada.

    1. I agree. It is nice when the migratory birds come back, both water birds and song birds. The crows, on the other hand…. As to distance, the E-bikes take the pressure off the knees, so riding further is easier. Happy Sunday Pat. Allan

    1. Always good to be back in the saddle. You can see so much more territory that way. Nice that the birds were out and about too. Thanks for reading Vanessa. Allan

    1. It did feel pretty nice and at least the paths we rode on did not still have winter grit on them. Looking forward to some longer rides. Happy Sunday Linda. Allan

  8. Love it! That first ride of the year feels so good. We are now a day or two away from dry enough roads to resume our riding out here.

    1. We should have been out earlier, but were glad to climb back in the saddle. Still waiting for all the winter crud to be cleaned off the roads. Hope you are riding soon. Allan

  10. I love the open space feeling around you!

Here’s what I always wonder about the e-bikes: Are they are pain to lock? Do you have to worry about them being stolen? And how far could you go on a charge?

Just curious, as it is something to consider in my hilly town.

    Cheers,

    1. Hi Julie. Our small city planned lots of open space as they grew. As to the E-bikes, I have a high security Kryptonite lock and cable that can lock both bikes together. The batteries are locked in place. The furthest we have ridden on one charge was about 80 km (50 miles). It all depends on level of assist, hills and wind. We routinely do country rides of 40-50 km in the summer. We have a few hills in our area and a lot of wind. In fact we call our small city of Beaumont, Blowmont, as it seems the wind is always in your face. Thanks for reading. Allan

  11. The ducks must be thinking that the E-bikers are back, a sign that spring is here!
