Rough Road

  1. Looks icy! Our winter was similar here. Warm days, not much snow, and then once in a while, a freeze would come and everything would turn icy.

    1. The constant freeze/thaw cycle did make for icy conditions. We were lucky to get through most of the winter with decent trail conditions, but had to use our Micro spikes in March or we would have been skating. Then, there was a fine line between ice and mud. No worries. We will keep on walking. Thanks for reading Vanessa. Happy Saturday Allan

  3. I think, Allan, you and your lovely wife will live to at least 100 years, and more with such a healthy living! I hope that you shared some of your food with the little bird who must have been hungry!

Thank you for the stunning scenery , and interesting narration!

    1. Ahhh, thanks Joanna. We will be sad when the day arrives where we can not walk the paths any longer, so we keep at it. We do share and the chickadees are appreciative, especially in winter. Glad you enjoy our walks too Joanna. Happy Saturday. Allan

  4. Gorgeous. Frozen, rutted walks are more difficult than those who have never experienced them imagine.

    1. Definitely a chore to find good footing. There was some soft snow along the edges that was not too bad and we did not need to use our micro spikes. Thanks for reading Pat. Allan

    1. We always shoot for what looks like the best day of the week and sometimes we get lucky. The chickadees were particularly playful that day. It is like the recognize us and after 80+ times walking this trail they should. Thanks for reading Linda. Allan

    1. Thanks so much for reading and your kind comments Cherryl. Sorry that I spelled your name wrong on one of my comments on your blog. Those sunny winter days are a gift to us Canadian walkers. Given how long it can take spring to arrive, we just have to get outdoors. Have a wonderful weekend. Allan

      1. I’d love to see some of Canada one day – those winter landscapes are exquisite, the rockies/Jasper/Banff type mountains and forests, the bright blue lakes – all look so pretty. I’d love to see Niagra Falls too.

No worries about name spellings lol, didn’t even notice. At least you didn’t call me ‘Caroline’ somehow once called me that!! Nice name though ✨ 😄
