All photos taken on December 9, 2023.

The rain and puddles were increasing and it was at this point I found it too diofficult to keep the camer dry.

  1. Great pictures. How far to you and Patty usually walk? I’m impressed with your distances in your posts. The children’s slide looks like it a sea lion to me. I was hoping the title meant that you had finally gotten some precipitation back home.

    1. We walk a variety of distances Pat. In Vancouver, the walks tended to be about 8 km (5 miles) at a time as Patty healed. Back home, our weekly forest walks are about 6.5 km (4 miles), but we walk every day, unless it is too cold. We tend to cover 25-30 km (15 1/2 – 18 1/2 miles) a week. In Vancouver that increased as we walked everywhere. You are right on the slide. No moisture here yet, just the promise of some snow and mixed precip tomorrow. Fingers crossed. Have a great Monday. 1. May the wet be with you since you so desperately need it. We were below average through last fall, but our late fall, winter, and early Spring rains have put us on the plus side of our rainfall total and the entire region is out of drought, with our ground water level restored. Just in time for Spring planting.

  2. What a miserable day, it’s a good thing you said it was in December, that would have ruined my spring day.

    1. The rainy day reminded us why we never moved to Vancouver. Still, it was a good walk. Have a great Monday. Allan

  4. Thank you, Allan, for the wonderful winter photos! I love the Heron and the bridge!
At least you had a fresh air in your lungs, and all that walking will keep you fit and healthy.

  5. Hi Joanna. We had no shortage of exercise while we were in Vancouver in December. I managed to lose 10 pounds in 6 weeks without half trying. We do love our walks and we see some things. Thanks for reading and happy Monday. Allan

  6. You did this BEFORE coffee? That explains it, then. You should have had your paddle board, wetsuit and underwater camera. Better decisions take place AC. After Coffee. 😉 Seriously though, great pictures of rain-soaked Vancouver. Here’s hoping you can get some of that rain in Beaumont. Cheers.

    1. We needed something to look forward to, so we could convince ourselves this was a good idea. If I recall, a bit of Baileys may also have been involved with coffee time. These are the normal winter shots you would expect to see there, That being said, we were pretty blessed with the weather we had for 6 weeks. Thanks for reading Lynette. Allan

      1. You definitely had lots of good weather over that period and I can understand why some Bailey’s was required! Your picture of the heron is fantastic.

  7. That poor heron looked so miserable as if he was all p—ed off that it was raining. Maybe he wanted to slide down the slide into the pool. 😁

  8. Even though there’s a certain beauty on gray, rainy days, I still admire your stamina for walking in that weather. And it probably made finally getting inside to some warm weather that much nicer!

  9. Walking is who we are and what we do. I hope the day never comes where we can not walk side by side. Getting back home for coffee and Baileys was a good reward. Thanks for reading Ann. Allan

  10. Wow, that looks like a lot of rain! I’m impressed that you were able to still take some pictures and that you kept your camera dry for so long. I’m sure the coffee afterwards was a nice way to warm up.

    1. Both me and the camera got very wet. Pat had to shelter me with the umbrella. Still worth it. Will see if the new application of waterproofing on my coat has worked. Have a good Wednesday Linda. Allan
