The winter season in Vancouver is mostly grey and rainy. Oh, there are a few sunny days, but when the sun shines here in winter, it typically gets cold. Today, the light rain never stopped once dog training was over.
Nevertheless, at 10:30, we set off without Benji, to walk through Stanley Park, because we could. We thought, we’ll get this done, before coffee and then dry off and warm up.
Here is the map of our route 7 km (4 1/3 miles) route to 2nd Beach and the Tea House, down Rawlings, Lees, and Tatlow trails and then back to Urban Fare for groceries.
Walking around Lost Lagoon. The weather was fit for ducks, that’s for sure.
Over the little stone bridge.
Turns out my waterproof jacket was not as waterproof as I thought.
Who is this bridge for? Only the ducks, methinks.
We though the juxtaposition of the Great Blue Heron with the children’s slide was interesting.
Looks like someone is not amused.
Rain to the left and rain to the right.
We opted to walk from 2nd Beach up to the Tea House, along the sea wall, so wet and exposed.
Sewall scenes.
Long and short views of Siwash Rock
On Lees Trail, we found out that the theory of the forest protecting us from wind and rain was not accurate.
The rain and puddles were increasing and it was at this point I found it too diofficult to keep the camer dry.
Our motivation to go shopping flagging, we still toughed it out and arrived home in time for coffee and snacks.
